Basic Painting Necessities

When I first started with my Aquarelle Journey, I had a hard time choosing the basic materials that I need - since I am a self taught artist.
At first, I didn't mind using the cheap watercolor paints that I got from my mom's studio set and cheap set of "acrylic" brushes. But as I started researching about watercolor materials, I discovered that the quality and kind of brushes, paints and papers could influence the way I paint and my paintings.
So, together with my artworks, I also decided to make this page as a journal for the "evolution" of my materials. Since I'm not an art major nor did I take any art class, I could not guarantee that all these materials are the best in the market. I could only speak regarding my experience with them. However, I will include some websites that could help you if you are still in the process of choosing the right materials for you. Hopefully, you won't commit the same mistake that I did - investing with the wrong materials, in short.. wasting my money.

One the best websites that I recommend is handprint.com. If your serious in choosing the best quality paints and brushes, this website could provide you even with the smallest details about brushes, paints, papers, etc.

Note: I don't have a page for the different kinds of mediums yet due to the fact that I haven't tried using any except for Grumbacher Miskit Frisket.
